All candidates must have a good understanding of oral and written English. Training Qualification to QQI Level 6 or equivalent is highly recommended. Candidates may attend the Over Head Crane Instructor Course without having a training qualification and they will receive a Certificate of Attendance on completion of course.Certification and Accreditation:
Candidates who produce proof of their QQI level 6 Training Qualification within 6 months of successfully completing the Over Head Crane Instructors Course will receive Over Head Crane Instructors Card and Certificate for 5 years.Resource Material:
Candidates who successfully complete all practical and theory assessments will be provided with all material required to deliver an Over Head Crane Operator Training Course including PowerPoint, Course Notes, Health & Safety Legislation, Trainee Assessment Sheets and more.Post Training Support:
We will provide post training support and advice. We encourage our participants to actively participate in Over Head Crane Operator Training Courses that we ourselves run, to help them gain confidence and experience in delivering their own Over Head Crane Operator Training and Instruction.Schedule
Candidates will complete the Over Head Crane Course that they themselves will be delivering as Over Head Crane Training Instructors.

- Compliance of inspections
- Responsibilities of the operator and the employer
- Over Head Crane Categories
- Safe Operation of Over Head Crane
- Identifying Risks and Hazards associated with Over Head Crane including overloading & shock loading
- Pre & Post Use Inspections of Over Head Crane
- Lifting Equipment Safety
- Pre & Post Use Inspections of Lifting Equipment
- Maintenance
- Theory and Practical Assessments
Candidates will be taught the dangers surrounding lifting equipment. Candidates will also be taught the importance of pre use checks and how to carry out pre use checks on lifting equipment. Candidates will be taught about lifting equipment selection, basic rigging practices, tension developed by angles of lifting equipment and effects of sling angles on rigging and hardware.

An examiner will supervise and audit the theory and practical assessments which will be completed by each candidate.
